I know it’s been radio silence around here for a bit. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the news lately. It’s 1 part depressing (obvious reasons), 1 part enraging. There are people protesting lockdowns – I can’t think of anything to compare them to other than flat-earthers. There’s no sense in engaging them because they’re arguing from such a point of insanity that there’s no convincing them. I haven’t even tried talking to anyone like that though, just watching their conversations on social media, etc is enough to piss me off.

Took over some supplies to our parents today. Getting groceries delivered is still a bit of an ordeal these days. I heard some of the supermarkets are stocked a little better, but still light on things like bread, etc. It’s tough to get a delivery window available and the places that will deliver are struggling to keep things in stock. I tried to order from Amazon Prime Now Friday afternoon.

The CDC is starting to say that wearing cloth masks is a good idea 😷. I have a feeling they really think we should be wearing real (e.g. N95) masks, but they know that supplies are currently so constrained on them that people won’t be able to get them and it would make the dire situation a lot of our health workers and health systems are already in, worse if the public starting clamoring for them.

One of the interesting things is time seems to have, at least in some way – and not really a good way, slowed down. I know each week, basically every day feels like Monday. It’s just like the week doesn’t progress. Others have joked, and I agree, it still feels like early/mid March. I think it’s been 23-24 days since I started working from home. Time definitely hasn’t slowed down in the sense that I can patiently move from task to task.
