Took over some supplies to our parents today. Getting groceries delivered is still a bit of an ordeal these days. I heard some of the supermarkets are stocked a little better, but still light on things like bread, etc. It’s tough to get a delivery window available and the places that will deliver are struggling to keep things in stock. I tried to order from Amazon Prime Now Friday afternoon.

The CDC is starting to say that wearing cloth masks is a good idea 😷. I have a feeling they really think we should be wearing real (e.g. N95) masks, but they know that supplies are currently so constrained on them that people won’t be able to get them and it would make the dire situation a lot of our health workers and health systems are already in, worse if the public starting clamoring for them.

One of the interesting things is time seems to have, at least in some way – and not really a good way, slowed down. I know each week, basically every day feels like Monday. It’s just like the week doesn’t progress. Others have joked, and I agree, it still feels like early/mid March. I think it’s been 23-24 days since I started working from home. Time definitely hasn’t slowed down in the sense that I can patiently move from task to task.

Hoping folks can just let “April Fools” go tomorrow for this year. We don’t need that crap at the moment. COVID-19 U.S. Stats for 2020-3-31 Total Cases: 192,079 Total Deaths: 5,359 COVID-19 U.S. Stats by date

The Governor of Virginia declared a “Stay at Home” order today for the state. People should only leave the house if it is essential. As he put it, me paraphrasing, there is a difference between needing to do something and wanting to do something. You should only leave your house if you need to. To the people congregating on our beaches and completely ignoring what everyone else is doing—you are being selfish.

Still improving but not sleeping well at all. Fever has stayed gone, so I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t COVID-19 at this point. Not sure what was going on. Hoping I can sleep tonight though. Reports all over Virginia and the Richmond general area of people seeing full parking lots still, etc. Folks aren’t taking this seriously. I am worried about what this will mean for us all long term.
