2021 Year in Review
Dec 15, 2021

It’s been about 10 years since I’ve posted one of these, but I thought it might be good to give it a shot again. So, here goes… 2021 started off with a fair amount of uncertainty. Coming out of the first year of the pandemic in 2020, we’d heard news of a vaccine possibly becoming available. It did, and in March/April, Carrie and I were able to get appointments for our doses.

We had been given a ‘return to the office’ plan of returning yesterday, but then that got moved to November 2nd. Given the uptick in cases for the Delta variant, folks are wondering if that will be moved. I won’t be surprised if it does move, and generally I’m ok with that. I’m fairly happy with working from home. Vaccination rates are still too low, just keeping this all prolonged longer and more dangerous than it needs to be.

Guess I went pretty radio-silent around here after a strong start when Covid-19 was really flaring up originally… Really, I thought I’d open up the editor and I’d have all kinds of thoughts that would flow … that is proving to not be the case. Let’s see… I’m guessing the election is going to be a clusterfuck with all the mail-in ballots, etc. My wife and I voted via mail-in ballot.

I know it’s been radio silence around here for a bit. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the news lately. It’s 1 part depressing (obvious reasons), 1 part enraging. There are people protesting lockdowns – I can’t think of anything to compare them to other than flat-earthers. There’s no sense in engaging them because they’re arguing from such a point of insanity that there’s no convincing them. I haven’t even tried talking to anyone like that though, just watching their conversations on social media, etc is enough to piss me off.
